Dunploddin' is
a newly built and purpose designed self catering property to provide
all you need for for a relaxing and peaceful holiday in the Southern
Uplands of Scotland.
Dunploddin' is situated on a very
quiet road without through traffic, at around 1200 feet above sea level
there is a true sense of peace and tranquility. I am sure you will miss
traffic noise, mobile phones and the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Formerly
a shepherd's cottage, this converted barn is a true rural delight.
Situated 12 miles from the nearest village, this wonderfully remote
location totally belies the state of the art refurbishment, beautifully
carried out with dedication and flair by the property owners. This
compact cottage is on two levels, it exudes lots of natural light and
delivers a style and charm all of its own. There is an adjoining kennel
with indoor and outdoor run, dog sitting available at no extra charge,
but dogs are not allowed in the cottage. We also offer secure bike and
equipment storage with an area to hang wet outdoor clothing.
In
May, June and July guests can watch the development of the resident
barn owl's who have residency in an adjoining barn, via a camera link
to the cottage. Nesting kestrels, peregrins, oyster catchers, herons
and house martins abound here - a real ornithologists dream. There is
lots to do here for the outdoor enthusiast including idyllic walks,
fascinating cycle rides, fishing and golf. Dunploddin' is one of only 4 properties situated on the Southern Upland Way.
