Route Description
1. Start at Bruce's Stone Car Park. Follow the track eastwards as it descends steeply to a bridge (dated 1851) crossing the tumultuous waters of the Buchan Burn. Continue sharing the track with the N7 Off-road Sustrans Cycle route. Near Glenhead Farm the routes part company, and the path swings R towards the Glenhead Burn and meets with the Southern Upland Way by a wooden bridge.

2. Continue with the burn on the R before climbing the grassy slopes of Trostan Hill. The track is rejoined a short distance beyond the summit. Note the small dam in the Glenhead Burn which forces thewater flow east into the Dargall Lane and Loch Dee for hydro-power generation.

3. Return by the same route, or alternatively follow the track all the way back to Bruce's Stone.
