Notes: A circular walk climbing above the Village offering splendid views towards the Rhinns of Kells, particularly attractive in spring when the yellow gorse is in full bloom.

Route Description
1. From the Shop/PO walk up the short steep hill out of the village.

2. Turn R at junction with A 712 and immediately identify an overgrown track on L. Negotiate the undergrowth, cross fence and continue uphill between old hedge lines.

3. At gate track becomes less defined and crosses open moorland.

4. After a short boggy section turn R through gate and follow track to Hill of Balmaclellan.

5. Through gate at entrance to farm, turn L and pass between farm buildings and past house to join tarmac road. Follow downhill to A 712.

6. Turn L and then immediate R onto B 7075.
