Notes: A circular walk along the flood embankments of the River Ken. The embankments are reputed to have been built by Napoleonic prisoners of war, and provide an ideal vantage point from which to savour the delights of the Kenmure Holms, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a haven for wild life.

Route Description
1. Leave the car park heading S alongside the Mill Burn following a rough path which fades as it approaches the second fence crossing.

2. Turn sharp L following the embankment which turns R alongside The Lane, an inlet of Loch Ken.

3. After 300 meters the path turns L to meet with the River Ken at a fence.

4. Turn L following the riverside heading N.

5. At the Bridge join the road L to New Galloway.

6. Turn L after passing New Galloway sign back to car park.
