Notes: A circular walk north of Dalry passing through fields and open moorland. A stretch of quiet road is incorporated giving splendid views onto Carsfad Loch and the Rhinns of Kells.

Route Description
1. Walk up the Main Street and follow the SUW signs as it leaves the village at Townhead Crescent, into open fields.

2. Continue on the SUW and pass Ardoch Farm turning R, across fields and open moorland until reaching the public road.

3. Continue straight ahead following road and SUW to Butterhole Bridge. A sign points L to Youth Hostel. Path follows alongside the N bank of the Black Water burn.

4. At road (B7000) turn L for Youth Hostel and continue towards St. John’s Town of Dalry.
