Start: Large lay-by on east of A713 just north of Ken Bridge Hotel. GR NX 642786.

Finish: Large lay-by on east of A713 just north of Ken Bridge Hotel. GR NX 642786.

Notes: A pleasant countryside walk combining natural and historical aspects with the opportunity to visit a clog and shoe workshop and also a pottery.

Route Description
1. Take the track from the lay-by, initially through trees but soon emerging into open farm land. Pass Garple Loch and Holme Farm.

2. Turn R at track junction.

3. At public road, by Holme Lodge turn R.

4. Turn L at road junction towards Balmaclellan

5. At shop turn L through village and up to War Memorial. (turn L for short distance if you wish to visit the Pottery)

6. Join the A 712, pass behind the village downhill to the A713.

7. Turn R, passing the Ken Bridge Hotel to start point.
