Route Description
1. Park on A 713 at road side grass verge at Bridge-end just north of Carsphairn Village. Follow the farm track roughly NW, pass the cattle sheds and ford the Benloch Burn. (This may be crossed more easily in times of spate by walking upstream a short distance and jumping across a narrow gully). The track continues high into the open hillside terminating near a stane dyke.

2. Cross over the dyke into a rough hollow before ascending using another dyke which leads to the summit as a guide. This becomes more derelict as it reaches the summit cairn.

3. From the summit head due S across the broad ridge to the Black Shoulder. A stane dyke leads across Dunool to Willeanna.

4. Strike W and descend to rejoin the track. Turn L to start point.
