Notes: Visit the Holy Linn, once the site of secret Baptisms during covenanting times and walk a route trod by Pilgrims in the middle-ages enroute to St. Ninians shrine at Whithorn.

Route Description
1. Take the side lane around Balmaclellan churchyard to Clog and Shoe workshop. Carry on to end of lane.

2. Turn R into field following path past Motte and on to Barscobe Wood entering at corner.

3. Follow path just inside edge of wood.

4. After short distance divert L onto path to visit Holy Linn. Return to regain path in wood turning L.

5. Leave corner of wood by gate onto track. Turn R for Barscobe Castle.

6. Retrace steps to Balmaclellan.
