Location Information

Newark Farm is a traditional family run working beef and sheep farm in the beautiful Southern Uplands with magnificent views of the River Nith Valley.

We offer three different types of accommodation:
  • Bed and breakfast accommodation
  • Self catering accommodation
  • Certified caravan location
Bed & Breakfast in characteristic spacious centrally heated en suite rooms is available. We have 2 bedrooms and both could be available as family rooms for 4 people. The rooms are furnished to a very high standard with TV and tea making facilities. A downstairs bedroom with en-suite suitable for wheel chair users is available. Evening meal available on request - soup, sandwiches and a pudding.

As we are situated only 7 miles from Drumlanrig and 15 miles from Ae, we have recently installed bike storage and wash facilities for mountain bikers. Whether you want to go fishing, walking, mountain biking or simply enjoy the view Newark Farm is the ideal location.

Visitors are welcome to see the indoor lambing taking place from January to April staying in the B&B farmhouse.

This beautiful part of Scotland is great walking country with the Southern Upland Way, Scotland's coast to coast footpath of 212 miles from Portpatrick - Cockburnpath passing nearby. There are many other less ambitious walks in the area and we have leaflets available.

There is also exciting wild life to see, and this part of Scotland is a perfect area for artists, both professional and amateur alike.

Dumfries and Galloway is also famous for its fishing facilities and Salmon and Trout fishing can be arranged on the nearby River Nith.

We also offer Horse Bed and Breakfast with stables and grazing available.
