Path Closure at Portpatrick

Path Closure at Portpatrick

Essential path repairs on the descent into Port Mora (Sand Eel Bay) the first of the bays you meet north of Portpatrick.

Unfortunately, if you are walking long distance from Portpatrick the only guaranteed way of getting up the coast is to by-pass this section altogether, walking out of the village on the main road, turning left just after you've passed the Village Plan and following the minor road for about two miles. Then you meet the Southern Upland Way again as it comes up the Killantringan Lighthouse road.

There are signs up, some of which have maps on, showing the alternative route. Duration of works - 7th March for about four weeks.
