Situated in our own
grounds within the delightful village of Portpatrick in Dumfries &
Galloway, South West Scotland, Rickwood House combines quality with
comfort and good food with a warm welcome. We are a family run guest
house enjoying a 3 Star rating from Visit Scotland. Maggie & Fred
Findlay are your hosts and have run Rickwood for a number of years.
Rickwood
House is situated quietly, near the golf course, overlooking the
village and the Irish Sea yet we are only a few minutes walk from the
centre of Portpartick. The house known today as Rickwood House Hotel
was built in Edwardian times for the factor of the local Dunskey Estate
and was known as The Factors House. In 1959, the house changed hands
and became the Rickwood House Hotel.
Our house has been
modernised to a high standard and has six stylish bedrooms. All have
en-suite showers, some have baths also. All rooms have controllable
heating, tea/coffee facilities and some have DVD players. Two of our
rooms are on the ground floor. We have a residents license can provide
a freshly cooked evening meal if required. There are ample parking
spaces within our grounds for all our guests.
Whether you want
a relaxing break from all the hustle and bustle of modern life or if
you wish to take part in the various sporting activities in the area,
you will find that Rickwood House provides what you are looking for.
