Location Information

St. Ronans Hotel first traded as a Hotel in 1827 being opened by the then Earl of Traquair. The book by Sir Walter Scott, St. Ronans Wells (a Victorian spa ½ mile from the hotel) had made the area popular and people were coming from far and wide to "take the waters".

St. Ronans Hotel building itself is quite a bit older and on close inspection you can see that bits have been added over the years.

There is a public bar with a real coal fire, pool table, and dartboard, where we serve bar meals.

We also have a lounge bar, which we use for serving breakfasts for those who would rather not be in the public bar. There is a large enclosed beer garden with children's activity area.

At St. Ronans Hotel we have seven bedrooms, all of which are en suite; all rooms have remote control colour television and tea and coffee making facilities.

Whilst staying at St. Ronans Hotel there is a choice of places locally for eating. If you wish to arrange to eat at St. Ronans Hotel, you will find the meals are all home cooked using fresh Border produce whenever possible.
