The Galloway Trail - a 5 day walking holiday through the heart of Dumfries and Galloway.
For walkers wishing to experience the Southern Upland Way and enjoy a great walk in less than one week then this short but popular itinerary may just be the thing for you.
The 'Galloway Trail’ is a 5 day / 6 night itinerary taking in a 66 mile section of the Southern Upland Way (averaging 13 miles per day) from Portpatrick to St John’s Town of Dalry cutting through the heart of Dumfries and Galloway surrounded by spectacular scenery and includes vehicle support to reduce the longer sections of the route to make more manageable stages.
Drive to our offices in Dalry on a Sunday afternoon and enjoy a warm welcome, a cup of tea and some local shortbread. Leave your car with us and we will then transfer you, via the Galloway Forest Park, to the scenic and popular harbour village of Portpatrick for your first nights’ accommodation in superb accommodation at the Waterfront Hotel.

- Vehicles can be left at the Ken Bridge Hotel.
- Price includes transfer to Portpatrick for up to 6 persons.
- A single person supplement will apply and includes accommodation, luggage transfer and vehicle support supplements.
- In the event that accommodation is not available in the locations specified it may be necessary to transfer walkers to the next available town or village which may incur additional costs.
